Samsung Chromebook review Vs MacBook Air for 2014

If you love Apple’s MacBook Air design, but don’t have that kind of money to spend this month, allow us to offer you a fantastic MacBook Air alternative in 2014. Samsung are now splashing the price on their impressive Chromebook products and as a result, we can give you a quick-heads up on a Samsung Chromebook review.

The MacBook Air is great for its portability, while the ease of input thanks to the Mac keyboard is also a strong point. If you wanted to replicate this experience, but use a different operating system, you may be interested in the Samsung Chromebook specs with Chrome OS.

It includes an 11.6-inch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution and LED Backlight features. It’s powered by Samsung’s own Exynos chip, with 1.7Ghz Exynos 5 Dual processor and 2GB of DDR3L RAM.

There’s 16GB of SSD memory on board, with the option of expanding upon this with three types of SD card. While storage is obviously limited, remember that the primary purpose of this laptop is to get you online and connected with Chrome OS in the cheapest way possible.

The Samsung Chromebook battery life is great for the price too, with Samsung claiming that you can get up to 7 hours on a full charge, which is not bad at all.

Portability is also key with this laptop too and at just 2.43lbs in weight, this is going to be very convenient indeed when travelling around often.

Comparing this to the MacBook Air, as the Samsung Chromebook is only slightly heavier than the 11-inch MacBook Air which is 2.38 pounds.

Apple’s laptop can also claim to offer superior battery life as well with up to 9 hours on a single charge for the 11-inch. Still the difference in price is huge and we are still very impressed with what Samsung are offering.

Retailers such as Walmart are currently offering low prices for the Samsung Chromebook, so you may want to keep your eyes open and see what you find.

To give you a better idea of how this device compares against the MacBook Air, we have included two excellent video reviews below for you to watch.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Chromebook tech specs from Samsung can be found here in visual format. We’ve also located the Samsung Chromebook manual in PDF for you as well with a direct link here.

Have you already seen enough to convince you to buy the Samsung 11.6″ Chromebook w/ 2 GB RAM, 1.7 GHz this month over the mighty MacBook Air? Give us your thoughts below.
