Samsung cancel Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 update

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 update has been canceled for now thanks to problems with TouchWiz applications, and not for lack of enough RAM like some people first thought. This is a bit of a blow because we had assumed that the latest version of KitKat would come this month since the Note 2 received its update late last month.

According to SamMobile the Android 4.4.2 KitKat test build for the Galaxy S3 has been having a few issues with TouchWiz application implementation, and as such the Samsung dev team has cancelled the update for the time being.

Samsung has yet to provide a timescale as to how long it will take the dev team to come up with a fix, so for now it is a waiting game.

We do find it strange that Galaxy S3 owners on Sprint say they are already enjoying Android 4.4.2 KitKat, proof of which you can see here. How can they be enjoying this update when Samsung said there was an issue with TouchWiz, something the Sprint version will have?

However, upon further inspection, it would seem that many of you do not believe the reports that some Galaxy S3 owners have updated to 4.4.2 and as such have asked for proof. Those who say they have the update have posted images of the update, although many of our readers are still not convinced.

Update: It would seem that the Galaxy S3 has been updated for some of you in the US, as the issue with the lack of RAM only applies to the international version. Sorry for the confusion.
