Samsung has been doing all they can in order to make ATIV a new brand that you will want to own. Having already released a phone with the ATIV branding, they thought it was about time they shifted into a different gear, which is why they unveiled the Samsung ATIV Book 5 and the ATIV Book 6.
It’s more than obvious that there will be a spec difference between the two Ultrabooks, which would also mean there will also be a price variance. The Samsung ATIV Book 5 specs are pretty decent with its 14-inch touchscreen, 24GB of ExpressCache3 and 500GB hard drive, Intel i5 1.8GHz processor, 1366×768 screen resolution, 4GB of memory and much more, all of which you can see below.
The main Samsung ATIV Book 6 specs includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 2.4GHz Intel I7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, and a screen resolution of 1920×1080. Full specs can be viewed above.
Both models will make full use of SideSync technology, which allows users to swap from their PC to their Samsung smartphones running on Android. All they need to do is connect the two devices with a USB cable, so if you receive a text on your handset you can answer by texting via your computer keyboard.
ATIV Book 5 price will be $899.99 and the ATIV Book 6 cost once available will be $1199.99. Engadget reports that Pre-orders have already gone live.
Both these seem like pretty decent ultrabooks, but we find it amazing that they are still supporting 1366×768. Do you think ATIV is a brand that you can see going for years, or has Samsung made a mistake?
