Saints Row: The Third – Pre-order / Platinum packs detailed

If you already thought that the upcoming Saints Row: The Third game – which is due to arrive on November 15th for the PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows and the Xbox 360 – was bizarre enough, then I’m afraid you are terribly mistaken. Well, that is if a recent trailer announcing the Professor Genki’s Hyper Ordinary Pre-Order Pack is anything to go by anyway!

According to a recent article by Chris Carlson over on the website, the recently announced Professor Genki’s Hyper Ordinary Pre-Order Pack for the Saints Row: The Third game comes with some rather interesting in-game items including the Genki Stuntman Outfit, the Octupuss Gun (yes you did read correctly) and the Man-a-Pult vehicle.

I bet you are curious to know what exactly the Man-a-Pult vehicle and Octopuss Gun are now aren’t you? Professor Genki’s Super Ballsitic Man-a-Pult vehicle is a vacuum-action human cannonball truck that enables players to suck up pedestrians and use them as ammunition against your enemies. This is the kind of weapon that sounds like it will be great fun to use.

Meanwhile, the Professor Genki’s ‘Octopuss’ Weapon enables players to fire baby octopi at their enemies’ heads. Professor Genki’s Leisure Stunt Suit on the other hand is ideal to wear when skydiving over Steelport or ejecting from high-flying jets. This wasn’t the only thing that THQ has announced recently either, as they also revealed the Saints Row: The Third Platinum Pack.

The special Platinum Pack comes with an exclusive custom molded Saints Row headset. These high-quality headphones come with a vocoder voice processing feature — which is inspired by Saints Row: The Third’s premiere pimp Zimos — that enables you to speak with a digitized voice. The Platinum Pack also includes an exclusive in-game soundtrack.

We do have to point out that the headset is not compatible with the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live. Although there has been no word on an official price for the Saints Row: The Third Platinum Pack, GameStop has it priced up at $99. There’s another bit of good news for Saints Row fans as well.

According to Chad Goodmurphy over at, the first 3000 North American gamers that purchase the Saints Row: The Third game from THQ’s online store will receive the ‘Season Pass’ for nothing. The pass — which is valued over $20 — will provide players with access to 3 planned DLC mission packs.

We have embedded the announcement trailer below this post. Are you looking forward to the Saints Row: The Third game?
