Safest SUV and Crash Test Ratings

Earlier today we discussed how important it was to know the MPG rating for a vehicle, not standard gasoline vehicles, but Hybrid, EVs and Plug-in Hybrids. Now we thought we would look at another important factor, but this time with an SUV. When you think of these sports utility vehicles you think of tough sturdy machines, so knowing which of these is the safest is very important.

Some of this information can be found on Motor Trend, who offers all the latest crash and test results, along with the safety ratings of an extensive range of SUVs. While on the site you will see that all the models that appear on the left all have 5 out of 5 stars.

However, to get a greater insight into how safe that vehicle is just click on ‘More Vehicle Details’. The first details that you will see are all the safety features fitted to the vehicle, then to the right is a link taking you to the crash test ratings. Visit Motor Trend for these results.

The most up-to-date news that I could find on the safest SUVs in the U.S. was conducted back in June. According to Social Media SEO, six models were announced by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) as the safest in their class.

Among the six included the Chevrolet Equinox and the GMC Terrain both scored very well. These are for the 2010 models; we have yet to see the safety results for the 2011 range of SUVs. What new models do you think will score highly? Let us not forget that cars and trucks are now much safer, here are details on where to find news 2011 cars and trucks.
