The Safari quit unexpectedly error message is common in multiple versions of Apple’s web browser and also a problem that many are having with the beta. We’ve seen comments landing on Twitter and complaints in forums for both beta and public release versions.
It’s unclear why Safari will quit unexpectedly every day in 10.10 Yosemite for many developers, and the fact it won’t open or happens every time for many other versions. There’s is a strong need for a fix in preview 8, if one releases before the Yosemite public release date in October.
Two reasons for Safari quitting unexpectedly in 10.10 – there’s most likely two main reasons why this has started to happen in the latest preview build, which would be due to a major bug being introduced with the latest update or a bad install on certain developer machines.
Safari quit unexpectedly error messages common in all versions – there’s also a good chance public versions of Mac OS X and Safari will start crashing thanks to other 3rd party software. This could be browser add-ons, Flash, and other software installed on your Mac and causing conflicts.

We’ve included a few tweets above revealing others having this error message as well on different software versions. This is a small taste, although there’s thousands more crashes every day that are reported directly to Apple or in forums. Are you getting the Safari quit unexpectedly error message in 10.10 or older versions?
While OS X 10.10 is a preview build, remember the public release is next month and this doesn’t leave much time to fix this problem if it’s a major bug.
