Runic Games’ Torchlight Xbox Live Launch a Huge Success

A post from Businesswire yesterday announced that Runic Games, who produce ‘Torchlight’, experienced their highest day in Torchlight in the game’s history, this shows that correctly porting PC games to the Xbox Live Arcade can be a great move for developers.

Torchlight was a MMORPG originally designed for the PC and was brought to the XBLA as part of Microsoft’s House Party on March 9. President Travis Baldree said “We’re very excited to bring Torchlight to the 360, and have been really gratified by the positive reaction.”

We also covered the story on the release date of Torchlight 2 earlier in this post and it seems like this will be another huge fan favourite too, changes being made to general gameplay and physics are being made which will give way to a greater feel of realism to the game, however there is no word of this one coming to Xbox Live Arcade as yet, but we can hope.

If you haven’t already played Torchlight it is currently available on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1200msp and can be downloaded by following this link. If you already have the game or have played it, what did you think of it? Will you be buying Torchlight 2? Let us know in the comments section below.
