Run Forrest Run Android app dupes users

There may be an official Tom Hanks app on the loose thanks to a typewriter app that has become available recently, but elsewhere we can see the Tom Hank goodness has spread to something else – an app called Run Forrest Run for iOS which features the character made famous by Tom Hanks in the movie Forrest Gump.

However, we can also see that the quick popularity of this app on iPhone has already led to several clones being developed on Android. As far as we’re aware, Run Forrest Run from Genera Mobile is only available for iOS, not Android.

There is an app available on the Google Play Store though called Run Forest Run, a completely different game that doesn’t feature the Forest Gump character. Instead it’s a adventure game rather than a runner, so don’t be fooled into thinking that it’s the same app as on iOS.

Perhaps Genera Mobile are working on an official Android version as we speak, but there may be some barriers to pass through considering that there is already an app available with the exact same name.

We saw similar trends after the iOS launches of Cartoon HD and Flappy Bird – everyone wants a piece of pie once an app goes viral like Run Forrest Run has at the moment.

Have you been playing this game on iOS? Android users – are you waiting for an official version to come on your device?
