Royal Wedding Website and Official Twitter / Facebook

Next month sees the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Catherine Middleton, and Clarence House has today launched an official website for the event. The website has social media links via Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, and The Royal Channel on YouTube.

Stephen Bates from is reporting in an article, that the website has been described as an official service for anyone interested in the wedding. This is a big move for the Royal household into the 21st century, who have often been accused by some in the past for being too old fashioned.

But only last year the Royal Family started to post images on Flickr after opening an account. There are virtual tours and various photos and other information on the new site. It could also provide a live web stream of the wedding itself when it takes place on the 29th of April.

In this modern age of social media, it was pretty obvious that the Royal wedding would use the popular social networks to connect with the British public and beyond. Using sites like Facebook and Twitter shows the Royal Family can move with the digital age.
