We have some exciting news now for all you Rift MMORPG fans out there, as the game’s developer Trion Worlds has just revealed a list of new features that will be included in the upcoming Rift patch v1.2. For those of you that don’t yet know, the patch is due to arrive on May 10th.
According to an IGN article by Nick Kolan, the forthcoming patch will introduce the Rift game’s very first ‘Sliver,’ which has been described a tear between planes that gamers can actually enter. This particular one, located in Shimmersand, will take players to an alternate version of Telara.
The alternate version of Telara — which is overrun with people from the Planes of Earth — is a raid instance that’s built for 10 players. The upcoming patch also provides brand new world events, one of which involves creating a colossus and getting it to battle another colossus.
It’s not just brand new content that’s included in the 1.2 patch either, as it also provides extra functionality. For example, the new update is introducing a ‘Looking for Group’ system that is similar to that of the World of Warcraft game, but with a few differences.
The update also brings a new Wardrobe feature, which will function similarly to switching roles in the Rift game. Although instead of receiving a new set of abilities, players will be able to completely alter their appearance. The patch does of course involve a few tweaks as well.
