There is a lot to look forward to with the 2015 Ford S-MAX, and having already seen a number of reviews of this next-generation model, or more of a preview of what we can expect, interest has now started to increase. The reason for this is due to the fact its UK release is all set for this summer, and so consumers have once again started to wonder what makes this new model so different to the current one.
Well, there are a number of changes with this next-generation Ford S-MAX, which you can see in the video below taken from last year’s Paris Motor Show. However, AutoExpress has also rekindled its interest in this people carrier and have been looking at specific things that make this new model stand out against the outgoing one.
Safety is always an important factor, especially as this vehicle is targeted for people with families. One such safety feature with this all-new S-MAX is Ford’s Active Parking System, as we know how tricky parking can be in such a big vehicle. The system does all the hard work for you, and will also reverse you out as well, ready for you to get on with your journey – handy in those tight spots where you find it hard to see the rear of your car.
There is also Lane Assist, which stops you from veering over to another lane while driving, something that has happened to us all from time-to-time. Other safety features include blind spot monitoring, which will brake for you automatically if the system senses a risk of an accident.
Choice of 2015 Ford S-Max engines and starting price — There are to be two Ecoboost turbo petrol options, and three 2.0-litre diesels. As for price, expect to pay from £24,000.
