A few weeks ago we announced that a red version of AT&T’s HTC Inspire 4G would at some point become available to purchase exclusively at Radio Shack stores, although we could not provide our readers with a price or release date for the upcoming handset.
We now have a bit of good news for those of you that are interested, as according to Donald Melanson over at engadget.com, the red HTC Inspire 4G smartphone has now arrived at Radio Shack stores, and we have an update on the price both on and off contract.
You can pick up the red HTC Inspire 4G smartphone — which runs on the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system – for $29.99 if you sign a new two-year AT&T agreement. If you’d prefer to purchase the handset off contract however, you will be required to fork out $550.
For those that need reminding, the HTC Inspire 4G also comes with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 4.3-inch WVGA touch-screen display and an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash. Unfortunately there is no word of a 2.3 Gingerbread upgrade for this handset yet.
As noted over at radioshackwireless.com, the HTC Inspire 4G also features HD video recording, Dolby Mobile + SRS WOW HD Surround Sound and mobile hotspot support, which enables users to share their connection with up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices.
