We have some good news now for those of you that have been waiting to hear about a release date for the upcoming Red Faction: Armageddon game, as Volition Inc. and THQ have both confirmed that the third-person shooter will be arriving at the end of May / beginning of June.
As James Orry over on the videogamer.com website recently reported, the game — which will see players taking on the role of Darius Mason as he fights to save humanity — will be released into UK stores on June 3rd, while US gamers will be able to pick up their copy from May 31st.
If you’ve already played previous Red Faction titles, then you’ll know that the games are all about destructible environments. As Mike Jackson over at computerandvideogames.com notes, Red Faction: Armageddon looks to take that concept to brand new levels.
Being built on the Geo-Mod 2.0 destruction engine, the RFA game enables players to take advantage of total environment destruction. Players will be able to collapse Martian structures onto their enemies, as well as rebuild whatever they destroy with the Nano-Forge’s repair ability.
The game will be available for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Are you looking forward to playing the Red Faction: Armageddon game?
