This past week has been one that consumers wish that they could forget, as were a host of recalls. In what we would like to call recall week, we thought we would go over what products we have been warned about. GM, Chrysler, McDonald’s, and Maytag have all issued recalls over the past week.
GM is the most recent, with reports of 1.5 million vehicles being affected by its heated windshield system. There are 17 models affected in total, thankfully there have been no reports of injuries.
The next recall is from Chrysler; they have announced two this week. The first was for two of its minivans, while the other was for its Jeep Wrangler. We recently reported that those models affected were built when the company was close to bankruptcy — thankfully they made the changes a long time a go so this will never happen again.
Next up was the McDonalds Shrek Glasses; with these worrying parents the most. It seems that there are toxic metals used in the manufacturing of these products. Lastly we have the Maytag dishwasher recall, where 1.7 million units were affected by the recall – this was due to a faulty heating element.
You have to agree that this is one week that we need to forget, but then again we cannot turn a blind eye to the huge amount of recalls that are being announced.
