Ready for iPhone 5 reveal on October 5 with release week later

There are many of our readers waiting for the release of the iPhone 5, and here on Product Reviews we try and keep you updated with all the latest rumors and news regarding the illustrious device. This has heightened over the last few weeks, and we may have to be ready for iPhone 5 reveal on October 5 with release a week later.

An alleged inside source from Apple has told PocketGamer that Apple will be holding a press conference that will cover new hardware on October 5th. This is thought to include the iPhone 5 and the reported cheaper iPhone 4 lookalike. It is also thought that the company is planning on releasing a 3G capable iPod Touch as well.

The iPhone 5 is then claimed to be releasing a week later, which would be an October 12th release date. This is only a few days out with what the CEO of French mobile carrier Orange recently claimed the handset would be available.

Before we have said that iOS 5 would be available a few days before the iPhone 5 would be released, so October the 5th could be the date for that release as well. There certainly would be a 5 theme if it was the case, and a clever bit of marketing by Apple.

With any luck there is some truth in this rumor and we will finally find out what the iPhone 5 will bring. While the rumors surrounding the iPhone 5 have suggested it will be totally different from the current model, we won’t know for sure until it is revealed by Apple. It is alleged the new design will feature a slightly larger display, coupled with a slimmer chassis.

There have also been constant rumors lately surrounding the possibility of a cheaper version of the iPhone 4 being made available to consumers. This will be a good idea and allow more consumers to get hold of an iPhone.

Do you think the October 5th date makes sense for the big iPhone 5 reveal?
