The portable DVD player market has fallen a great deal these past couple of years since the influx of budget tablets, which as you would imagine opens up far more options for the user. However, there are still some consumer electronics makers intent on keeping the market alive, with RCA at the forefront.
It’s a shame this market is dying because it has brought a great deal of enjoyment to millions of children over the years, as they sit quietly in the back of your car as you go on a long road trip. We know they have tablet devices to keep them happy now, but then again they are not that cheap and can often become annoying when your child asks if it is okay to purchase an app.
When traveling with the grandchildren we still have portable DVD players because one child loves to watch old movies like Home Alone, whereas the girl is into Peppa Pig. You can still watch these on tablets, but they work out far more expensive — not ideal if you are on a budget.
Speaking of budget, we already gave you one portable DVD player option the RCA DRC6296 9-inch Dual-Screen model, but if you have even less to spend, then the RCA DRC96100 could be just what you need.
Where the DRC96100 lacks in features more than makes up for it in value for money and the enjoyment it brings to children and adults alike. How many camping trips have you been on and have been there at night with nothing to do?
The DVD player supports a host of CD types and offers brightness adjustment, built-in speakers and a headphone jack for privacy, as well as JPEG and MPEG 2 support.
We had assumed that RCA would have more details and user reviews on its website, but the model does not show up on the website. However, we know the likes of Target has details and will no doubt be a very popular product for them through November.
