Razer Phone Netflix HDR app update confirmed in 2018

If the Razer Phone wasn’t already turning heads thanks to its 120Hz display support for hardcore gamers, now the smartphone is going to get even better by being the world’s first smartphone to offer both HDR and Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 support.

The announcement was made at CES 2018, with Razer’s CEO confirming the fantastic news for those owners who decided to buy at launch.

We can tell you that this update will happen before the end of January and any new Razer Phones purchased after January will come with the HDR and 5.1 update pre-loaded.

This makes the phone a powerhouse for viewing content and Netflix lovers, so we can’t wait for this update to arrive to see how big a difference HDR will make to Netflix viewing on the go.

Having that 5.1 support will also mean a lot more connectivity options too, not to mention the Razer Phone having THX support as well through headphones.
