Raspberry Pi projects for kids and beginners

Now that I’m heading closer to the big 40, others around my age will remember building their first computers as a kid with megahertz only just moving into double figures. It was great fun to strip down a computer as well, although when your parents found you with their £2,000 33MHz system in pieces and you couldn’t put it back together again, then this landed you on the wrong side of learning all about PCs back in the day.

Today, there’s amazing Raspberry Pi projects for kids that also teach adult beginners. These systems have changed what’s possible in 2015, especially when it comes to building and coding. Personally, we’d recommend getting your children involved in Raspberry Pi projects right away and especially promote the idea to schools, if they’re not already involved in some way.

Raspberry Pi projects for kids and beginners – You can program with Scratch, create a weather station, create a humidity sensor, create a Grandpa Scarer (as seen here), build an insect that comes with a connected camera using Raspberry Pi, and even build the perfect case to house your Raspberry Pi with this PDF project.

You will even find a number of books showcasing some great Raspberry Pi projects for kids, as seen here in Kindle and Paperback form. If you are wondering “what is Raspberry Pi?”, then the best source for detailed information and answers is the official website.

We’d also recommend you watch a few videos detailing a review roundup from earlier on in 2015, as these reviews offer good insight for newbies. If you are still not sure about Raspberry Pi 2 and haven’t purchased anything yet, then consider this alternative named “C.H.I.P.“, as it’s not all about Raspberry Pi only.
