Raspberry Pi 2 ePaper display upgrade

There is no end to the options available to those with a Raspberry Pi and the new model the Pi 2, as there seems to be so many add-ons, and there’s another to add to the list. PaPiRus has a Kickstarter campaign running, which by the way has already reached its funding, and will give the small computer a low-cost e-ink display module.

It’s worth point out that the Raspberry Pi 2 is also supported by this ePaper display upgrade, and will come in three size options, 1.44, 2.0, or 2.7 inches. Ok, they are not very large, but then again it’s not like you will be using this as a Kindle.

PaPiRus E Ink display for Raspberry Pi

This HAT compatible display is available for hackers to back, which you will have to pledge at least £25 in order to be one of the first to get hold of the display.

However, if you pledge £65, then you will be sent all three size options. If all goes well, then PaPiRus’s goal is to start sending them from July.

Full details for this device is explained in the video below, although we can tell you that because this ePaper display mimics paper you can read the display in direct sunlight. You will be able to read text, or view images, and better still, even without electricity.
