Range Rover Evoque RS performance increase, and Sport

Having already learned that Land Rover is working on a sportier version of their Range Rover Sport, there is now news that other models in the range is to get this treatment. The standard Range Rover and the Evoque will get these performance upgrades as a way to cater to a growing market.

The Range Rover Evoque RS performance increase is still not known at this time, but they will make use of a current engine with a few improvements made to help increase power output. The Range Rover Sport RS will be the first to get these improvements, with the normal Range Rover and Evoque to follow shortly after, as reported by Auto Express.

We already know that the Sport has made use of more speed and improved handling, and so it was only natural that the other models would wish to follow suit as well. Things were not always that positive for the Range Rover Sport though, because the company was fooling us.

The Sport was not really a Range Rover but a land Rover, as it used the Discovery chassis and so lacked in performance and handling. The all-new 2014 Range Rover Sport is a completely different beast as it has been designed from scratch, and now comes with its very own chassis.

Knowing that the Range Rover Sport is now the vehicle it should have been when it was first introduced, it is rather obvious that Land Rover would want to take advantage of this and so an even faster version came as no surprise to us.

Range Rover Sport RS engine specs include the same supercharged V8, but will now push out 542 horsepower and 680Nm of torque. They have yet to share any other details, but we will keep you informed.
