Quick-scoping in Modern Warfare 3: Real skill or paradise for noobs

We have some very important news to bring to gamers all around the world now, particularly those who are planning to pick up Modern Warfare 3. We’re hearing strong rumors right now that the ability to quick scope will be making a return for the upcoming game.

Yes, the very same feature that Treyarch removed for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Apparently, Infinity Ward are keen to retain as much features from MW2 as they possibly can, and quick-scoping remains one of them. Whether it will be welcomed with gamers though is a different matter altogether though.

Check out the following comment from Infinity Ward Community Manager Robert Bowling when asked on Reddit specifically if the controversial feature will be making a return for Modern Warfare 3 or not:

“Currently, you can still quick scope in Modern Warfare 3. Keep in mind though, multiplayer is always changing at this stage (new perks, new balancing, new everything all the time based on feedback), however our philosophy on that hasn’t changed since MW2.”

There in black and white, is his admission that the game features quick-scoping, well in the pre-release build of the game anyway. Considering that we just have around 5 months to go until release, it would seem a pretty drastic move for IW to remove it just on the back of consumer criticism.

Many of you welcomed the idea of no quick-scoping in Black Ops, but how would you feel if it made a return for MW3. Of course, there’s always been the heated debate that quickscoping requires real skill to use, but generally complaints are usually made on how it’s actually a ‘form of exploit’ and as a result, exploited by beginners who are looking for a quick kill.

Personally, I’m not too bothered about this. Being taken out in seconds via quick-scoping with the Intervention rifle in MW2 did become rather annoying I can agree, but once you get used to the game, it’s always easy to take out someout who is quick-scoping anyway – and that’s the bottom line really here. If Infinity Ward decides to put quick-scoping in the game, it’s up to those who feel it shouldn’t be there, to find away around it.

As a fan of the COD franchise, what are your thoughts on the possibility of quick-scoping in Modern Warfare 3? Do you think it is a way of defining ‘real skill’, or is the whole process essentially a paradise for noobs?
