Pure Sirocco 550 internet connected micro system anounced

If you like to have good sound quality but don’t have the space for a full on separates system, the Pure Sirocco 550 internet connected micro system may be for you.

The new micro hi-fi system also features a DAB and FM radio, CD playback, and an iPhone iPod dock. Pure claim the power of the unit to be 80W per channel, which the company feels is enough for the Sirocco 550 to be the main sound system in your home, according to an article on What Hi-Fi.

The 550 has what is called Pure’s Clearsound technology that uses Class D amplifiers and digital audio shaping. This is claimed will deliver a more clear and dynamic audio experience at higher volume levels, and use less energy in the process.

Connection to the internet is via Wi-Fi and Ethernet, and allows owners to stream their digital music via a PC or media server. It also provides access to thousands of internet radio stations. Pure’s online service The Lounge and its cloud music service FlowSongs can also be accessed. This clever feature allows users to identify tracks playing on the radio, and buy them directly if wanted.

There is also a USB port for flash drives, two aux ports, and a composite video output added to the OLED display. You also get a remote control and is priced at £350.
