Unfortunately we can confirm that PSN maintenance is going to occur once again with PSN down on Monday November 17. Sony has given users a heads-up, revealing that the PSN maintenance time will happen on the eve of the GTA V midnight launch.
Sony couldn’t have picked a worse time to take PSN offline again, but it’s going to happen. A statement on the PlayStation website confirms that the PlayStation Network is down from 5pm to 11pm on Monday November 17, UK time – moved forward by one hour.
For those of you in the US, that means PSN is down at 9am Pacific Time and 12pm Eastern Time, until 3pm and 6pm respectively.
Remember that GTA V on PS4 is scheduled to go live on 12.01am for digital copies, so owners who have bought a digital copy will be praying that the maintenance doesn’t go overtime and there will be no further issues through the night as GTA V next-gen launches.
It goes without saying that those who plan to game through the night should stay logged into PSN well before 6pm UK time on Monday as Sony says that gamers ‘may’ be able to continue with online gaming during the maintenance.
PlayStation Store will be out of bounds though, as will Account Management, so make sure you are prepared. Let us know your thoughts on this and what game you will be planning to buy this week – GTA V, WWE 2K15 or Far Cry 4?
Have you lost count at the amount of times PSN has gone offline for maintenance this year?
