Sony will be glad to see the back of this year as it has seen more than its fair share of troubles with all the hacking that took place before the summer. At the time of writing we can tell you that PSN is down again in September 2011.
The official EU PlayStation Blog tweeted a few moments ago that the system was experiencing problems, and posted “We’re aware that PSN is currently unavailable and working with the technicians to find out when it will be restored. Apologies”.
There are a few comments on its Twitter page that the system is not available, but we are not sure if is only affecting Europe or is worldwide. This is the second time the service has been unavailable this month, as it was down for routine maintenance a couple of weeks ago.
This doesn’t seem to be the case this time though and we currently don’t know how long the service will be off for. Hopefully it is not the return of any hackers after the length of time the service was unavailable for, and will only be a short downtime.
Can you access the PSN service in your area? If not let us know where you are.
