PS4 YouTube app with sharing needs download

We know that a lot of you are very excited about the upcoming PS4 2.0 update download. A native PS4 YouTube app is going to arrive with the new software and we have a quick heads-up on how to start using it.

As we’ve seen in the past, Sony has updated system software and automatically added apps to the home space without the need to download them – Singstar was a prime example of this if we remember correctly.

However, once PS4 2.0 update is live, you will need to head to the PS Store to download it manually as it won’t automatically appear when you reboot your console.

This is obviously a non-issue though and the app should take seconds to download depending on your connection. Once you have the app, you’ll be able to enjoy 1080p content at last on a native app and not have to use an optimized browser version of YouTube as most of you have been using in the past.

The image you see above has just been released by Sony, giving you a little teaser of the YouTube app already live on the Japanese PS Store. Don’t forget that you’ll also be able to use YouTube when Sharing too, with the addition of trimming videos so your uploads are tailored to your needs straight away.

This is looking like a massive update for PS4 users, so are you very happy at the moment with your console? Looking ahead, let us know what the next feature is for you which should arrive next without fail.
