PS4 vs. Xbox One games running at 1080p 60fps

One of the hottest inquiries for console gaming is to find out what PS4 and Xbox One games are running at 1080p 60fps, and now that we are well into 2014 it is much clearer. Today, we want to detail the latest news on PS4 vs. Xbox One games that are released or upcoming, and those titles running at 60fps in 1080p full high definition.

It is worth noting that most games on both consoles will output at 1080p thanks to upscaling, although this wouldn’t necessarily be a native 1080p resolution for many titles.

PS4 1080p 60fps games list – as of May 2014, the current/upcoming titles to feature a native 1080p at 60fps include Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Diablo 3, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Trials Fusion, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, The Last of Us: Remastered, Resogun, Project Cars, Outlast, Planetside 2, NBA 2K14, MLB 14: The Show, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Knack, Flower, FIFA 14, and Dying Light.

Killzone: Shadow Fall also features 60fps but only during multiplayer, and there’s still a debate over DriveClub being at 30fps or 60fps. Call of Duty: Ghosts is now at 60fps, although this came after a patch. Another game recently joining the list of 1080P and 60fps on PS4 is The Witness.

Xbox One games at native 1080p with 60fps – a number of the titles we mentioned above on PS4 will also run at 60fps on Xbox One, but they will not run at native 1080p and instead reach levels between 720p and 900p. They then get upscaled to 1080p rather than natively being produced at that level.

60fps Xbox One games with a native 1080p resolution include Dying Light, FIFA 14, Forza 5, NBA 2K14, and Wolfenstein: The New Order. It is also true that more Xbox One games releasing in 2014 with a native 1080p and 60fps is very doubtful.

Do you care if games run at native 1080p and 60fps? While the PS4 is certainly offering many more games at native 1080p, do you think it really matters?

If you already own an Xbox One then we feel most of you will just ignore the idea of getting a native output, although those of you that own both an Xbox One and PS4 might choose to opt for the higher resolution and frames per second.

The interesting part will come with how consumers look at the PS4 and Xbox One hardware, so in the coming Christmas rush will shoppers go for the console that sells many more 1080P/60fps games and follow the hype, or buy for other reasons like game exclusives? Time will tell.

They all look exactly the same on each system. Native 1080p doesn’t seem to matter when the X1 up scales so well

I can’t play a game if the graphics suck.

For an article written on 5/14/14, there’s a lot of inaccuracies in there. Some of which benefit my console of choice.

knack definitely ain’t 60 FPS. I like the game a lot, and the graphics are great but the framerate was one of its few disappointments. It drops below 30 FPS. Definitely not 60 lol

Funny 😁. Last Gen Xbox people said it mattered because non exclusives Xbox was ahead…. Now their behind and Xbox owners say it doesn’t matter. It’s all about being a fan boy and a troll… Whatever you own is automatically better. It’s annoying. Enjoy what you have. I’ve even read this moronic Xbox owner say that ps4 is for people that can’t afford a Xbox. Winder what his argument is now? His name is facts last or some crap like that.

God this resolution crap should just die already. The difference between 720p and 1080p is noticeable but 900 to 1080 or 792 to 900 barely a difference. People are putting way to much weight on this issue. Microsoft does need to do something even if only to shut these stupid articles up lol. Cluttering my flipboard and email.

Tomb Raider was 1080p with 24-50fps, for the record; NOT 60fps.
The X1 version locked the Framerate at 30fps and upscaled 1080p

I own the PS4 and Xbox One, but I must admit this news did make me buy a game on PS4 rather than Xbox One on a number of occasions.
