PS4 update streams games to PS Vita TV

Japan seems to get all the best technology first, well they do when it comes to the PlayStation Vita TV that’s only being sold in Asia right now. The latest Sony PS4 update in this region has added the ability to stream PS4 games wirelessly over a home network to any TV in your home.

The PS4 link app on Vita TV allows you to connect to your PlayStation 4 console somewhere else in your home, but don’t take our word for it, have a watch of the 6-minute video below this article to see the new feature in action.

There will no doubt be teething problems with both Vita TV and this new PS4 link feature, which are already evident within the quick hands-on review below. There’s lag revealed within certain types of games, and of course this isn’t good with precision shooting games.

The lag problems can be solved by either running home network cable or even better, using electric plugs like we do all around our office at 500MBs. This would most likely cure the lagging issues, although we’d have to test that possibility when Vita TV finally releases in this area of the world.

Do you like the idea of Vita TV and linking to your PS4 from any room in your home? Sony’s PS Vita TV has no release date for the UK or United States at the time of writing, although it did launch in Japan 6 months ago.
