PS4 support for PS3 accessories with wireless headsets

We have some good news for those of you with a healthy collection of bluetooth accessories for the PS3, as it looks like you are still going to be able to use them with the transition to the Sony PS4. You may have expected this anyway, but just to make sure Sony has this week confirmed that your wireless headset that you currently use will have support for the PS4 console.

Considering the fact that Microsoft’s Xbox One will not support older Xbox 360 peripherals, this is a welcome reminder from Sony in our opinion – just to make consumers clear on the matter. Don’t forget that the system will ship with an in-ear headset out of the box, but now you have the option of sticking to the USB and Bluetooth enabled wireless headset if you prefer.

Many PS3 owners should already have one for the likes of Black Ops 2 and Battlefield 3, so it’s great to have the option of just plugging it into the PS4 the moment you buy the new console. The news was confirmed by Sony at this year’s Comic Con expo in San Diego, an event where Sony will actually be bringing their console for an extended showing after E3.

While it is great that your wireless headsets will work, we should remind you at the same time that the PS3 fighting sticks by Mad Catz will not work sadly. Mad Catz has already said that the PS4 requires a new set of fighting sticks, so that is one disappointment to take into consideration.

What accessories do you have for the PS3 at the moment? Are you hopeful that you will be able to use the majority on PS4? List them below for guidance.
