PS4 getting ‘exclusive’ fighting game, Xbox One missing

We have some interesting news to bring you now, especially to those who consider themselves to be big fighting fans. It’s just been confirmed that the PS4 is getting a version of Injustice: Gods Among Us, but the big story is that there will be no version for Xbox One users – with no apparent reason either so far from NetherRealm Studios or Microsoft.

To refresh your memory, Injustice is the popular game from the same developers who brought us the Mortal Kombat reboot, aka the creator of Mortal Kombat Ed Boon and the rest of the team at NetherRealm Studios. Injustice has already been given a release date of November 29th 2013, but it won’t be coming to Microsoft’s brand new console.

Nobody seems to have the answers why either. When asked on Twitter, Ed Boon replied to a user explaining that ‘it is not as simple as that’, and gave a similar response when quizzed why there wouldn’t be a Wii U version either – yet another game that Nintendo fans can cross off their shopping list.

The Ultimate Edition is coming to PS4, complete with all the DLC released for the game so far which Warner Bros has said is worth £70. The game should be available for normal retail price on next-gen and current formats, but obviously you should keep an eye open to see if there is any further deals available.

With Microsoft yet to comment on this, do you think the main reason could be that they don’t want another fighting game to release just days after the Xbox One launches with Killer Instinct? Microsoft may not like taking hard questions if it became apparent that Injustice sold more on the Xbox One than Killer Instinct.

That is just one idea anyway – it could be a whole different reason, which we hope we’ll get to the bottom of soon. Maybe Sony just paid the most money at the end of the day, in a similar scenario with what happened with Titanfall becoming Microsoft exclusive.

For now, Injustice Ultimate Edition has become an ‘exclusive’ fighter on the PS4. Let us know your thoughts on this.
