PS4 dominates Xbox One in August sales again

Sony may be taking their time to deliver on promised features with PS4 update 2.0 on the horizon, but in terms of sales since launch they have a lot to be happy about. It’s just been announced by the NDP group that the PS4 has outsold the Xbox One for a staggering 8 months in a row.

This is a surprise turn of events compared to the last console war of course and despite Microsoft’s infamous u-turn regarding DRM, it looks like some consumers have not forgotten where their priority lies.

Microsoft meanwhile have just snapped up exclusives with Tomb Raider and FIFA 15 Legends, so there’s still plenty of reasons to be happy as an Xbox gamer. What is making Sony run away with 8 straight months of sales ahead of the Xbox One though?

The results have been recorded by GamesIndustry.biz and Sony have also boasted that while Madden NFL 15 was the best selling game of August, most gamers picked up the game on PS4 rather than Xbox One.

Microsoft will be keen to change the fortunes around for September and don’t forget that Destiny could play a key part in which way the sales will go again – will Sony’s exclusive content be yet another decisive factor?

Give us your reaction to the fact that Sony is leading Microsoft for 8 months in a row for PS4 Vs Xbox One sales. Is this surprising to you, or not?
