PS4 discount bonus from UK game retailer

PS4 discounts have been very difficult to come by due to Sony’s RRP, but a bonus has been handed to consumers by a UK game retailer.

GameStop UK are selling the PlayStation 4 online for £329.97, where the recommended retail price form Sony is £349.99. Shoppers can order from the site now and enjoy a tasty £20.02 saving, although this deal is likely to see stocks run low out fast. Hopefully the site will keep the price fixed lower for an extended period of time, non dependent of stock quantities.

We saw a few weeks back how other retailers were offering the Xbox One at a discount, an offer which still stands. This is the first time we have seen the PS4 discounted however which is good as it may inspire other businesses to price match and create extra sales and savings for consumers. The reduced price applies to the original 500 GB PS4 console with a Dualshock 4 controller, no discount on bundles has been offered yet.

Demand for the PS4 is still very high and retailers are struggling to satisfy the huge desire for the next gen console. For example Amazon who regularly offer the best competitive prices are selling the exact same model for £436.99 through a 3rd party. Their bundles are also being sold by other sellers too, indicating that they have no stock themselves.

Are you still trying to get your hands on a PS4, are these savings enough to tempt you into buying one?

I passed through Doha Airport Qatar this week and the PS4 game console is available there for equivalent of £275 and that is airport price……..its probably cheaper outside. Even if you take into account VAT, it is still a rip off buying a PS4 console in Britain.
