PS3 update 4.56 features needed from Sony

As we told you last week, Sony has now gone live with the PS3 update 4.55 firmware. Unfortunately though it was another update that didn’t appear to offer much by way of new features. As a result, we want to look ahead to PS3 update 4.56 and what new features you would like to see from Sony.

With the PS4 now available and looking like a great prospect for the future, it’s unsurprising to see Sony put most of their resources into making the PS4 UI as good as it can possibly be.

Having said that, those who haven’t upgraded yet will still be expecting new PS3 features to come throughout the year, and less of the stability updates that don’t add any new functionality for users to enjoy.

We’re hoping that PS3 update 4.56 will come with new features as we know that a lot of you still have many requests that haven’t been met by Sony.

Personally, we’re still disappointed with the app selection on PS3. It’s good, but it can obviously be far better if Sony take the time to strike more deals with third-party companies and get their content on the system for users to enjoy.

We’re guessing we won’t see one of our favorites – a PS3 Spotify app arrive anytime soon with Music Unlimited taking priority, but it would be amazing if it ever did come.

Are you a consumer who has yet to upgrade to the PS4? If so, let us know what features you would like to see on PS3 this year.

Perhaps some new filters in the game folder to make game finding a lot more quicker than it currently is at the moment?
