PS3 games on PS4 store baffles

Seeing Sony allow PS3 games on the PS4 store right now would certainly confuse a few people, especially considering PlayStation Now is still in a closed beta for testing, but this is exactly the situation today. We’ve received a number of reports claiming PS3 games are showing on the PS4 Store, which include MX vs ATV Alive, Ben 10 Omniverse, and Dead Island Riptide after using the filter for PS3 games.

What’s going on and when will PlayStation Now release? This development has only been seen on the North American store from what we can tell and came after Sony showcased a PS4 playing Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception during a closed press event, so the two must be related. The games won’t download to the PS4 at this time, and interestingly they are all marked as free.

Currently, we know that PlayStation Now will see a release date at some point in the summer, although the majority of gamers expect to be charged at a discount for PS4 compatible versions of a PS3 game they own. We are not sure if this is worth it for all games, but with that said we’d love to see GTA V on PS4 through PlayStation Now.

Some PS3 games will certainly be worth paying a little for to get on PS4, and with the latest news revealing hundreds of titles expected to be available for download at PS Now launch, there’s every chance one of your favorites will be included.

Personally, we expect this is PlayStation Now testing and these titles were revealed on PS4’s in error. Let us know what PS3 games you’ll love to see through PS Now on PS4. Image thanks to Game Informer.
