PS3 Firmware Update 3.30 Live: Download 3D HDTV Features

Sony PS3 Firmware Update 3.30 is now live, so when you turn your PlayStation 3 on you will be asked to download and install the latest features. The most important update is 3D HDTV support, which means that you will soon be able to play 3D games.

This is not the full 3-D support that we are waiting for to make use of the new range of Sony BRAVIA 3D TVs, this will be available around about the same time as the new television launches. According to I4U, this will come within the next couple of weeks.

We know that a number of PS3 games will come with 3D support, these include: MotorStorm Pacific Rift, PAIN, Super Stardust HD and Wipeout HD. We had assumed that 3D movies will be available soon as well, but we recently reported that this will come in another firmware update later this year.

Other new features on PS3 Firmware Update 3.30 include a number of Trophy enhancements, more details can be found on Just Push Start.
