We told you this was coming before Summer lands, but now Sony has just confirmed it once again for us. PS3 consoles will be upgraded with 3D gaming support sometime in June, along with the release of their 3D-TV sets.
As reported from Eurogamer, Sony’s Simon Benson was speaking about the launch of 3D gaming at last week’s Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
He confirmed that Sony’s 3D TV sets will be available in June, and that 3D gaming will be released along with it, within that month – without going into specifics, obviously.
However, when speaking to Eurogamer, he did show off 3D demos of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, WipEout HD and Super Stardust HD, so these could be among the launch batch when it all becomes available.
Personally, i’ve played MS: Pacific Rift in 3D using Sony’s glasses last month, and it did look quite impressive to say the least. It looks set to be a busy summer for Sony.
Let us know your thoughts on Sony’s impending venture into 3D.
