PS Vita power realized with Killzone Mercenary footage

Attention all PS Vita owners, as we have an unmissable video for you to watch, if you are seriously considering picking up Killzone Mercenary later this year. A 27 minute gameplay walkthrough has emerged, showing the entire first mission in the game and in turn – offering up an excellent preview before you make the decision on whether to buy or not.

Killzone Mercenary is due for release in September and is easily one of the highlights of 2013 and a game that many fans have been waiting to play for a long time. Along with Final Fantasy X HD, Killzone Mercenary could actually be the big hope that Sony has in terms of being able to shift PS Vita hardware.

For a PS Vita game, we have to say that the graphics shown here are very impressive indeed – almost reminiscent of Killzone 3 on the PS3. We see the entire first mission being played from start to finish, while the video also does a great job in giving you a heads-up on some of the weapon customization options as well.

You’ll also see that Guerilla doesn’t hold back on the level of gore either, with some really brutal close quarter melee attacks with the knife that utilizes the PS Vita touchpad. One thing we will note though, is that the AI doesn’t appear to be particular clever, as we saw with some helghast soldiers literally walking past the player without a care in the world.

Having said that, how refreshing is it to finally be able to say that here we have a game with Killzone Mercenary, that truly looks like the first example of showing what the PS Vita hardware can actually output. It has been a long wait indeed, but hopefully more games just like this are on the way in 2014. Overall though, this video alone should make you decide whether or not the full game is worth a purchase. Check it out above and let us know what you think of the game – worth it or not?
