PS Vita importance with Killzone Mercenary beta

PS Vita owners may have been complaining over a lack of quality games to play, but with the arrival of Killzone Mercenary this month, this is now set to change significantly. The shooter from Guerilla is looking better each time we see it and now we have almost reached the moment where you can sample the game yourself – thanks to the availability of the Killzone Mercenary public beta.

We told you previously that a beta for the highly anticipated handheld shooter would be happening sometime close to full release. Now, we’re pleased to bring you an official start date for the beta, as Guerilla has revealed that public entry will be available on August 27.

Don’t forget that this relates to the public beta only for all PS Vita members. If you already have a PS Plus subscription, it gets even better for you as the beta for Plus members will start this week on Tuesday. If you need an example of what to expect from the beta, you only need to check out this fantastic gameplay session, which was captured directly from the closed beta which is still ongoing as we speak.

With Killzone Mercenary due out on September 4, the beta ending date of September 3 will give everyone the perfect opportunity to decide whether they want to pay full price for the game or not. It’s easily going to be one of the highlights of the PS Vita in 2013, so it could be a decision you’ll regret if you choose to skip.

Have you already played the closed beta? If so, get in touch with us below on your general impressions of the game. Would you recommend it on September 4 or not?
