After the success of Football Manager 2013, there is a great sense of expectation for SEGA to once again deliver a top game when Football Manager 2014 arrives later this year. This time around though, there is added pressure for SEGA to produce a PS Vita version of the game. It looks like the publisher are still remaining tight-lipped on that possibility though.
It goes without saying that Football Manager 2014 would be an ideal game for the 5-inch PS Vita and arguably a title that would rank alongside Killzone Mercenary and Final Fantasy X HD as pure hardware sellers. Sony should know this deep down and are hopefully working behind the scenes with SEGA to make this a reality in a few months time.
In the meantime, it was recently discovered that Football Manager 2014 for the PS Vita was briefly listed online by popular UK retailer ShopTo. The listing was promptly pulled though, forcing SEGA to issue a brief statement to TheSixthAxis on how the listing was actually not ‘legitimate’.
At the same time, there wasn’t a full denial leading some fans to speculate that the game could still be in the pipeline. With Sony already confirming to have a big presence at GamesCom 2013 next month in Germany, could this be the event where we will finally see the game announced?
We’re not sure about you, but we would love for a Football Manager game to arrive on Sony’s handheld. It’s a perfect fit on all accounts and it will be somewhat shocking if it doesn’t happen. If you are a Football Manager fan, let us know if you want this to happen as well.
