If you were in doubt as to whether Killzone Mercenary would be one of the standout titles for the PS Vita in 2013, we have some new images to show you which firmly cements this claim. Many people consider Uncharted Golden Abyss to be the current benchmark in terms of graphics on Sony’s handheld, but it’s safe to say that Killzone Mercenary is easily going to eclipse that.
The game is not due out until September, but fortunately we have been getting frequent teases for the highly anticipated shooter to keep users entertained as they wait. After the disappointments of Resistance Burning Skies and Black Ops Declassified, there is real hope this time around that Killzone Mercenary can finally deliver the console quality shooter that the PS Vita truly deserves.
It is also looking like a game that really shows off what the PS Vita hardware can handle as well, and it will be interesting to hear from Guerilla down the line just how much of the PS Vita’s resources have been used on the game. In the meantime, feast your eyes on a selection of new images for the game, which have been uploaded courtesy of CVGWorld.
They are easily the most beautiful images we have seen from the game so far and if we didn’t know this was from Mercenary, one could also argue that these are graphics that wouldn’t look out of place on the PS3. With Mercenary and Shadow Fall on the way for the PS4, it is looking like Killzone is coming back in a big way indeed.
These are the exact calibre of games that the PS Vita needs in 2013, so let’s just hope that other developers get inspired to start making quality games for the system after seeing the potential of Killzone Mercenary.
