When Nikon announced and finally released their D7100, which has suffered from stock issues, we assumed that Canon would respond with news of the 70D, and they have. Okay, it’s not what we would have liked, but the clues are there that Canon are readying several new cameras, such as a new IXUS / PowerShot, along with the successor to the T4i, although this is also rumored to be the new 100D.
Best Buy accidentally leaked details of a new DSLR and while there were no images to know what exact camera we are dealing with, we were treated to the specs that gave us a picture of what to expect. While we cannot be certain if this listing is for the T4i successor or the 100D, Canon Rumors seems to be going with the latter.
However, we can’t help but think that it will be the newer version of the T4i because the specifications are very similar, although there are hints that it could still be the Canon 100D because an optical view-finder and pop-up flash, something the T4i did not have.
We have to point out that these features are pretty much the same as the Canon 550D, which shows that they have an issue with progressing in terms of technology. Those eagle-eyed consumers will also notice that the specs of this upcoming DLSR from Canon are almost the same as the Samsung NZ1100 mirroless camera.
This new Canon DSLR is already up for pre-order on Best Buy, but we have to wonder who will be up for this before Canon has announced the name of the new camera, the final details and also what the thing looks like?
