There seems to be a continuous line of new cell phones and tablet PCs releasing each week recently, as companies try and tempt us to part with our hard earned cash for one of their shiny new products. Now its pre-order day with the Lenovo IdeaPad K1 and Samsung Galaxy Z becoming available.
Samsung have been in the news a lot lately with their new Samsung Galaxy SII handset, which is arguably one of the best Android handsets currently available. Now what has been called the more affordable option of the Galaxy SII has gone up for preorder on a Swedish website. The Samsung Galaxy Z is supposed to be the little brother of the SII, but it is no slouch.
It still has a 4.2-inch Super Clear LCD display, and a 1GHz dual-core processor running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. There is also a 5-megapixel camera, and the handset has recently gone up for preorder on the Swedish version of 3 Mobile for 3,995 Swedish Kronor. Which at today’s exchange rates works out at around $630, which isn’t really that affordable? The price could vary region to region though so may come in cheaper in other places around the world.
There is no word of a release date and if the handset will get released around the world. You can find the preorder page here and just use Google Translate. If you are thinking of getting a new tablet PC and don’t fancy an iPad, the Lenovo IdeaPad K1 has gone up for preorder at Amazon.com. There is currently no shipping date for the device but it’s thought to be soon.
For your $499.99 you get a device which has a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 display which is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 2.0 T20 1GHz processor. There is also a micro SD card reader, micro HDMI output, 3.5mm headphone jack, SIM card input, multifunction connector, and built in digital microphone.
Other features include Hardware Digital Rights Management which allows you to download and store your movies legally to watch them when you want. Social Touch allows the management of sites such as Facebook and Twitter in one easy to use interface. It is thought the tablet will be running Android Honeycomb, and will be delivered free of charge.
Are you thinking of getting a new cell phone or tablet PC? Does either of these devices interest you?
