Pompeii Ash-Yourself app for iPad, iPhone

Pompeii is the upcoming 3D disaster-adventure film set in the year AD 79, which is directed and produced by Paul W. S. Anderson. The Roman city of Pompeii is an interesting part of the world and the eruption of Mount Vesuvius is bound to play a prominent part in the film.

With a cast including Kiefer Sutherland, Carrie-Anne Moss, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica Lucas, Jared Harris, Emily Browning and Kit Harington, Pompeii is scheduled to release on the 21st February 2014. Much like the popular Gladiator film this movie revolves around Milo played by Kit Harington who is a slave turned invincible gladiator that is in a race against time to save the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant.

As Vesuvius erupts, the gladiator must fight off the hordes in the arena and save his true love Cassia before the city of Pompeii crumbles around him. It all sounds very exciting and we cannot wait for its release, while those of you who are intrigued about specific apps to complement the film there is an iOS application that allows users to picture themselves in the midst of a volcano eruption.

Pompeii – Ash-Yourself by Sony Pictures is free application available on the iPad and iPhone available to download through the App Store and this allows users to create their own volcanic escape that you can also share on Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook, as well as save images to your camera roll.

We have also provided a link to the cool Tumblr page showing a lot more about the film, which is great for those wanting to learn more about the Pompeii movie.
