Pokemon X and Y Starter evolutions may be revealed

We could have some exciting news for Pokemon X and Y fans now, as new rumors have surfaced on the upcoming Nintendo 3DS game, appearing to confirm some of the starter evolutions for Froakie, Fennekin and Chespin. Players will have a difficult choice on which Pokemon to choose at the start of the game, but evolution information could help to sway the decision even further.

[Not official evolutions, just a fan design]

It’s fair to say that we have had a lot of Pokemon X and Y news to take in ever since the game was featured in a special roundtable event at this year’s E3 expo in Los Angeles. The details have continued to come in since then and now it looks like we have another fairly big leak to share with you.

Information has been revealed courtesy of Pokexperto, a Pokemon fan site that apparently has been correct in the past with previous rumors for older Pokemon games. This week, we have a whole list of potential new Pokemon that are coming, but three of these Pokemon stick out in particular for us.

These are Hariboogu, which is thought to be one evolution of Chespin, the grass-based Pokemon available as a starter. Next up is Mafokushii which could be part of the evolution process for fire starter Pokemon Fennekin. Last but certainly not least, Froakie could evolve into Gekogashira.

Remember that these are the Japanese names, so if they turn out to be true – we will still have to wait and see what the English names will become. It’s difficult to say if this information is real, but then again it is just something to bear in mind as we wait for confirmation from Game Freak.

Have you already decided which Pokemon you will choose between Fennekin, Froakie and Chespin?
