Pokemon X and Y news teases something special

It is a very exciting time to be a Pokemon fan at the moment and it looks like Game Freak and Nintendo are ready to drop a big news announcement in relation to Pokemon X and Y. After launching a new trailer over the weekend, we now have word that something special is going to happen on Monday.

The official Pokemon account on Twitter has sent out a message, informing all Pokemon trainers that something special will be announced at 8am Pacific Time on Monday. It’s interesting to note that Pokemon X and Y isn’t mentioned in the Tweet, leading some fans to speculate that this could be an announcement that involves some kind of social or interactive competition elements to Pokemon X and Y.

Imagine Nintendo announcing some leagues or a way for fans to add that competitive nature to Pokemon X and Y – we know a lot of you would love to see something like that. Nothing is confirmed yet though obviously, as it could just be an unveiling of brand new Pokemon, which would still be worthwhile in our opinion.

There’s also big rumors that the announcement is related to the website ‘‘, which if you visit at the moment redirects you to the official Pokemon website.

This website could be an online database featuring stats and strategies for every single Pokemon in the game – so imagine how amazing that would be if true.

With the excitement over the two evolutions of mega Mewtwo, it really is all action at the moment for those planning to pick up Pokemon X and Y on October 12. Let us know what you think the Monday announcement could be – would you like to see a social hub or competitive elements added to the game?
