Pokemon X and Y new legendary Zygarde examined

While the revelation of new final starter evolutions for Pokemon X and Y is obviously very exciting, one area of the game that hasn’t been discussed in great length is new legendary Pokemon. We already know that Xerneas and Yveltal are coming to the game, but now we have details on the other new legendary Pokemon that will be featured.

The name of this Pokemon has already been revealed to be called Zygarde, and the design of this Pokemon is getting everyone talking on social media boards. We’re now pleased to bring you some solid details on this elusive Dragon and Ground type Pokemon, including a first look at what kind of moves it will possess.

It looks like Zygarde is going to come with an ability set that is a direct counter to the other two legendary Pokemon in the game, Xerneas and Yveltal. While these respective Pokemon can call on moves such as Fairy Aura and Dark Aura, Zygarde is actually going to have a special called Aura Break.

Aura Break will actually ‘reverse’ the effects of Aura according to its stats page, so Zygarde is going to be very effective indeed in battle against both legendaries.

As for moves, we can confirm that Zygarde will be able to use skills such as Crunch, Earthquake, Camouflage and Dragon Pulse. The background of this Pokemon is thought to revolve around Norse Mythology, but we’re guessing details will become much clearer around launch.

What is your first reaction to the design of this Pokemon? We’ve seen mixed feedback on Zygarde so far, but it looks like a lot of you are happy and can’t wait to add the creature to your collection. Enjoy the pictures here and let us know what you think of Zygarde, who is entry #718 on the Pokedex.
