Pokemon X and Y new evolution with steel ghost type

It’s time for another new Pokemon X and Y reveal for you this week, and it is something particularly exciting for those that thought Honedge looked great. The steel and ghost type Pokemon has now confirmed to have an evolution, resulting in a Pokemon that will be known as Doublade.

Honedge is one of the more cooler introductions to Pokemon X and Y and certainly a creature that belongs in its own unique category right now. The steel and ghost type Pokemon is going to be a fan favorite upon release, but now we have confirmation on an evolution to Doublade as well.

Nintendo has revealed the news over on the official Pokemon Facebook page, also revealing that Doublade will come with an ability called ‘No Guard’. Pictures showing the new form are now available to see here, essentially combining two swords together in a cross pattern forming the term – Doublade.

As far as we’re aware, there is no video footage of Doublade in action yet, but hopefully we’ll be able to bring you this before the end of the week. Honedge also looks like the kind of Pokemon that isn’t going to be an easy catch for users, so we have a feeling that Game Freak will be making it very challenging indeed to secure its services.

Nintendo has hinted in the Facebook description that Doublade can ‘telepathically’ carry out two attacks at once by coordinating its two blades. What other abilities will this exciting steel and ghost type Pokemon have we wonder?
