Pokemon X and Y free shows Nintendo generosity

Pokemon X and Y has been huge since it launched and Nintendo are making it free in a special deal of generosity. Next month anyone who registers a new 3DS console and has purchased any one of a selected number of games, will receive their free X and Y code which will enable them to download either version.

This generous offer from Nintendo is a part of their loyalty program and will be able to take advantage of starting in March. Pokemon X and Y will be available to you for free once you register a new 3DS, 3DS XL or 2DS, in addition to a new participating title from Nintendo’s list.

The catch here is a good one because you only need to register the device and game opposed to outright purchasing them. Therefore you are eligible for the deal using an unregistered console or game which either you have previously bought, or dare we say acquired by other means such as from a friend who already owns Pokemon X and Y and doesn’t need the offer.

The games which are valid for registration are Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3DLand, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Yoshi’s New Island and Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins. All of these games are out now except Yoshi’s New Island which arrives on Match 14th.

Nintendo’s special promotion starts on March 1st and ends on March 31st, Venture Beat reports that your Pokemon X and Y code is valid until May 31st. This offer is only available once to each member so you will need to choose between either X version of Y version, that has always been a hard decision in any case.

Will you be taking advantage of this fantastic offer from Nintendo, which version will you be choosing and why?
