Pokemon X and Y event for UK, not US

After hearing news about many exclusive Pokemon X and Y events in Japan, we finally have some good Pokemon X and Y news for those of you playing in the UK. An event is coming this week, allowing free access to Magmar and Electabuzz, with no purchase needed of any kind.

This is unique in the fact that usually to get a free Pokemon you would have to buy something at least. We saw this with the recent Darkrai event in Japan where players had to purchase a movie ticket for the Diancie Pokemon movie, but this won’t be the case with this latest official event.

Starting from Friday April 4, simply head in to your nearest GAME store. Ask for a 3DS code printed on a receipt and you’ll be able to use it to obtain Magmar (Pokemon X) or Electabuzz (Pokemon Y) – no catch and no purchase necessary.

This has been confirmed in the official Tweet from the Pokemon Twitter account, but there is no mention that the same event will be coming for US gamers.

We’ve actually heard some conflicting information however, suggesting that US gamers can still get their special Electabuzz and Magma on April 11, one week later than the US from EB Games, JB Hifi or Target stores.

There has been no official confirmation about this as of yet though and we’ve also heard that the following details may be relevant to those in Australia instead – not US.

Hopefully we’ll get the confirmation that these two Pokemon will be available for everyone globally, but for now the only confirmed event is for UK only starting this Friday.

Are you a bit worried that the same offer may not be available in the US? Let us know your thoughts on this latest event for Pokemon X and Y.
