Pokemon X and Y DLC not happening for right reasons

We have some interesting details for those of you who are specifically searching for Pokemon X and Y DLC news. The game has been out since October 12, but a lot of you have already completed the game and are wondering what is going to happen next in terms of potential post-release support.

If you are hoping that Pokemon X and Y DLC would be in healthy supply, you are going to be disappointed. But unlike so many other developer’s motives, it appears that the reasoning behind this is solely down to the right reasons and with the gamer in mind.

The legendary Ken Sugimori, responsible for the main artwork and creative design process that goes into Pokemon games, has said in a recent interview that DLC for Pokemon games was never an option for the company at any stage.

Furthermore, the idea of buying Pokemon with money has been met with a firm ‘no’ by Sugimori, as you can see in the translated quote below:

“When it comes to business, the one thing I’ve always said ‘no!’ to is ‘the act of buying Pokémon with money”

That is obviously great news for current Pokemon X and Y players, but do you argue that some other DLC may be beneficial to the game? We’ve already read feedback from some of you who say that you wouldn’t mind paying for other items – like some new clothes for your main character for example.

We agree that paying for Pokemon would be a very risky step for the franchise, but what other elements of the game would you be happy to drop a small fee on? Or would you be happy to keep Pokemon X and Y completely DLC-free?
