Pokemon Google Maps prize

It looks like what initially started off as an April Fool’s Joke has turned out to be something much more beneficial to hardcore Pokemon fans. The Pokemon Google Maps Pokedex hunt is coming to end, but now Google has revealed that they are sending out prizes to those that managed to locate and find every single Pokemon.

That means of course, a full Pokemon Google Maps Pokedex that includes the likes of Mewtwo (150) and Mew (151) as well, with Mew being hidden in a secret location as we told you a few weeks ago.

If you thought that this was a pointless challenge and was not worth the effort, you may regret that decision now. In a surprise turn of events, Google has decided to reward loyal hunters and are now asking qualified players to leave their contact information in an email so that Google can send them a gift.

Upon further inspection, it looks like Google may have been using this Google Plus page to specifically choose the list of players who are eligible for the reward.

As far as we’re aware, nobody knows what this reward could be and since Google states that they need 4-6 weeks to send it, it appears that it is going to be some sort of physical prize.

That means that the reward probably won’t be an in-game code for a new Pokemon X and Y event, but perhaps even a toy of some variety.

Either way it is exciting times for those that have managed to catch every Pokemon on Google Maps and notify Google about it.

Let us know if you have received this email from Google and if you are expecting a prize to be sent to you in your area. Can you confirm that this offer is also available to Pokemon fans outside of the US?
